About the Musician

Nick De La O was born and raised in Santa Fe, NM, learning to play guitar at the age 14 and creating music at 16. He collaborated music with friends throughout High School before starting a solo career. After High School, Nick got more serious and passionate about songwriting by adding a deeper meaning to his lyrics and started recording his songs. Nick derives his roots from indie rock, jazz, and psychedelic folk to create relaxing, unique and meaningful songs. His dreamy, laid-back style resembles bands such as the Velvet Underground, Devendra Banhart, and Khruangbin. Putting together his poetry and jazzy guitar riffs, Nick is able to bring the beach to his southwestern home.

The first release from Nick is Rainy Days, an EP that is composed of instrumental and lyrical songs but also experiments with different genres. His second EP, Daydreaming is Free was released May 3rd, 2019 which will include some of his old & new songs that can mostly be described as psychedelic folk. Today, Nick De La O records music in his home and releases songs to Spotify, Soundcloud, Bandcamp and other music platforms and streaming services. Currently he has a full length album in the works that will expand more on his dreamy style.
